About

Mariefred’s First and Only Coffee Roastery

At Solkant Kafferosteri, we roast high-quality specialty coffee with love, care, and a vision that’s been with us since we were teenagers.

Our journey began back in school, when we would spend breaks sketching ideas for cafés and roasteries in the margins of our notebooks. Five years later, in the fall of 2021, that dream became reality: we fired up our own roaster in Mariefred and started creating the kind of coffee we had always imagined.

Our Philosophy

For us, everything starts with the raw coffee. Without great beans, there can be no great coffee. Our role as roasters is to carefully highlight the natural flavors that each origin already carries. Every lot we buy is specialty grade — which means not only top quality, but also that the farmers behind it are paid more than fairly for their work.

Just as important are sustainability and transparency. They guide every decision we make, from sourcing to roasting. The coffee industry is far from fully sustainable, and coffee is no longer something we can take for granted. Many farms work incredibly hard with sustainable practices but lack certifications — often due to their size or the cost of certification. These are the producers we want to spotlight, because their stories and efforts deserve to be told.

Our Mission

Today, our goal is to educate and inspire — helping businesses and consumers make more conscious choices when it comes to coffee. We believe that sharing the real story of the coffee industry, from farm to cup, creates a deeper appreciation for the drink we love and the people behind it.

We’re proud to bring Mariefred its first and only roastery, but we’re even prouder to be part of a global movement pushing coffee towards a more sustainable and transparent future.

Let’s Talk Coffee

We always welcome questions, conversations, and curiosity. Whether you want to know more about how we source, roast, or ensure quality, we’re here — because for us, coffee is not just a product, it’s a relationship.
